Description
The 8155-1 Solar Tester provides a simple way to test solar panels and battery boxes and provides a way to paint covert solar devices in the field instead of them being pre-painted at the factory. The tester measures standard solar panel performance parameters such as Open Circuit Voltage (Voc), Short Circuit Current (Isc), and Maximum Power Point Voltage, Current and Power (Vmp, Imp, Pmp). The solar tester can also be used to test combinations of solar panels using Y-cables. For battery box testing it can verify that the wiring is correct, and the battery is installed and functioning.
The tester also provides a way to easily test cables that have been repaired in the field. The Solar Tester along with the 8156-1 Solar Tester Reference Panel can be used to allow field painting of covert solar panels to match the environment. When supporting field painting, the solar tester provides a simple display to tell the user when to stop applying paint to ensure the solar panel is not over-painted. The 8156-1 Reference Panel is used to ensure the paint is consistent across a wide range of lighting conditions and cloud cover.
